Do you need to have responsive web design on your website? The short answer is “yes”. The long answer is “yes, absolutely, unless you have a specialized mobile website.” The reason for this is pretty simple – the Internet is going mobile. Everybody today is using their tablets and mobile devices, and wearable technology is no longer a thing out of science fiction, but a reality. We already have smart watches and glasses – it’s only a matter of time before we get to smart socks and bring things to the next level – genius technologies (you heard it here first, people).

This means that if your website doesn’t respond well to mobile, which it won’t if it’s not mobile friendly, you will increase your bounce rate and lose potential customers due to a design flaw that’s relatively easy to fix and even easier to plan for since the beginning. At the end of the day, it’s not just SEO that’s going to determine your rank, but also how people receive your website and how many of them are happy with your content. Which they can’t be if they have to zoom in and out every two seconds, and slide things and ask themselves “Is this is a site for ants?!” every time they want to read something but they can’t. If I have to zoom in and slide your site with my finger when I’m on my phone, I’m leaving your website and trust me, I’m not alone in this. This is how most people react. They leave and never turn back. So ask yourself this – do you want to be future-proof or not?
