Optimize for mobile. We literally can’t stress this enough. If you think it’s important now, just you watch what will happen next year. Right now over 40% of the Internet traffic is mobile (and it’s even more than that on social media sites) so you can be sure that this tendency is moving forward at an almost alarming rate. No one uses a PC anymore (odds are, you’re reading this on a phone or a tablet), and most people prefer their mobile devices. Not to mention the advent of wearable technology like surprisingly cheap watches and clothes. The future is now!
Focus on ROI
Getting to the number one rank for a search term is awesome – we know that better than most. The thrill of getting there can be compared to very few things (like a superhot coffee with lots of sugar and milk early in the morning). However, ROI is much more important than polishing your ego. So make sure that number one rank is actually working for you.
Earn, rather than build links
The times of the Wild West when you would go ahead and use cheap tricks to build links are over (in case you didn’t get the memo). Now links have to be earned.
