The problem with SEO is that people see it as this all-in-one solution for all problems. Which it is totally not. If you want effective digital marketing altogether, you have to make sure that you know what you’re doing. Things are no longer as simple as getting a few people into your website and praying for a miracle. The thing about this is that today there have been changes in the entire status quo in regards to SEO. At the end of the day, it has to be combined with proper goals and valid attempts in order to yield good results. Otherwise the whole endeavor is completely pointless.

The mistake many business owners make is getting all hyped up on SEO and forgetting that there are other factors to think about, such conversion rates and other things. It’s not as easy as getting people on your website – that generates no revenue (unless we count advertising, of course, but if it’s a money site you need your conversions). Conversion rates are far more important and should be paid attention to.

What your profits actually show is something that should be considered, as well. If everyone is looking at your stuff, but nobody’s buying it, then you’re not making any profits, and that’s not all that great, is it? Then again, you might argue that window shoppers might be used to refer other people to your site, but that rarely ever happens – it’s far more likely that actual customers do it. So in the end you’re stuck with a website that might have good SEO and still not bring profits. Quality content marketing and carefully managing your goals can help you with that.
