Panda 4.1 – The Old Song with a New Beat

Panda 4.1 – The Old Song with a New Beat

Panda 4.1 will affect about 3 to 5% of the queries, which according to some people is not a lot, but when you think about the sheer volume of searches, it actually is. As usual, Google have not been kind enough as to let us know what exactly the changes will be. All we know is that the mantra “content is king” will continue to be repeated left and right when it comes to SEO. Apparently the new Panda will help some smaller sites with great content rank better. This also means that some other sites will be hit hard, though.

Some webmasters have complained that their traffic has decreased with up to 75% ever since the rollout of the update began. Others, though, have seen a significant increase, even with more than a few hundred percent (those are rare occasions, though) and sadly not thanks to a genius SEO maneuver. So what can you do in order to please Google this time? With the risk of sounding like a broken record – improve your content. There is only one thing Google wants and that thing is to guarantee that their customers are receiving the best content possible (believe it or not, people who search for stuff online are Google’s customers). There really isn’t much more you can do. Doing your best and writing excellent content is the only way to at least stand a chance against Panda. There are never guarantees, though. Some of the sites that were previously in a good standing with Panda got hit this time, which means that before their content was considered good and now – not so much. Still, you should always give it your best shot.
