There are things in life that are more important than money. There are things in SEO that are more important than keywords. The aim of this article is to show you some of the aspects that should take precedence over the keyword portion of your work. For way too long, experts have been preoccupied with the wording of the texts, completely ignoring an entire world of important factors. Sadly, things are not as simple as they used to be, so you should either adapt, or you will probably experience significant difficulties very soon.

Keywords location, location, location

It’s not that keywords are no longer important – they are. But the way they should be employed in the body of work has changed in several ways. One of these is location. It’s always been a factor, but now it’s a much more important one. Essentially, it’s far more useful to have the right keywords at the right spot (headers, for example), than having lots of key phrases in the body of the content.

Semantic search

In the past, Google’s bots used to be sort of slow and had very limited functions. They were only able to match queries with pages based on keywords. Today, however, things are a bit more complicated. The bots know the nature of your pages and site, overall, so they match it with queries that are looking for that particular topic. In short, the bots know what people are looking for (not just based on keywords, but semantics, as well), and they will match it to you if that’s what your content has. If you have the answers to the questions people ask, you will be chosen by the bots. More or less.
