Some SEO myths that just won’t go away

There is so much mythology surrounding SEO that it’s annoying. For every myth one debunks, there are two more that grow to take its place. It’s like the hydra. But we feel like Hercules and going to deal with some of these myths once and for all.

SEO doesn’t work

SEO is an ever-changing field – that much is true. But that doesn’t mean it does not work. It’s exactly the opposite – that is why it does work. The fact of the matter is that the area has changed a lot in the past few years, which has left some “experts” in the dust because they were unable to adapt. Search engines change all the time, and we need to keep up with them in order to stay relevant. Search engine optimization is a form of inbound marketing that works a lot better than traditional outbound marketing or paid advertising. It just requires a bit more finesse.

SEO is expensive

It’s true that good search engine optimization costs money, but that doesn’t mean that it’s expensive. You’re making a long-term investment in your website and you’re ensured that the people you’re paying will generate good results and then keep them. This is not cheap, but it is good investment which in most cases yields significant returns.

SEO is easy

Sure, you just write something and place keywords in it and the magic happens, right? Wrong! This used to be the case many years ago when people barely knew what a search engine was, let alone optimization. Today, it’s a complicated and ever-changing practice that requires you to be on the top of your game at all times if you want to succeed.
